What’s in the box?
Using the old name for Shropshire, our Salop Sauce is made with Shropshire Prune damsons – we’ve found that it goes really well with venison, cheese, eggs, beans and to be honest, pretty much everything in our house!
It’s now been picked up by a number of other local producers to make their own products such as curry pastes and scotch eggs.
This handmade product is suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans and contains No Allergens.
Our lockdown project was to come up with Shropshire’s own version of our three-county neighbour’s sauce.
Not having a ready source of fresh anchovies (or indeed rotting ones, the base for a leading brand of Worcestershire Sauce) we instead turned to a local fruit, damsons, to give us the base of our creation.
